INTRODUCTION AND HISTORY

Germany is a European country which is situated in the west central part of the Europe. It is also known as Federal Republic of Germany. The local name of the country is "Bundesrepublik Deutschland" and local short name is "Deutschland". It is surrounded by Denmark in north, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and France in west, Czech Republic and Poland in east and Switzerland and Austria in south. The capital of the Germany is Berlin which is also the largest city of Germany. The total territory area of Germany is 357021 sq. km. In nominal GDP (Gross Domestic Product), it is the third largest economy of the world. In military expenditure, it is at the sixth position in the world. It is the world's largest exporter of various types of goods. It is at number third in the total number of international migrants living in it. It is one of leaders in various fields of science and technology. The citizens of Germany have a high standard of living the government provides them high level of social security.
